I'm a long-time cutter; I started when I was twelve and have been doing it pretty consistently since then (now it's 5 years later). I cut in places are
are not usually visible and contain no major veins or arteries; there's no real risk of accidental suicide except if I do too much and pass out; even so,
when I've passed out from blood loss, they heal up quickly enough that I come to in a few hours, a little weak but otherwise fine. Anyways, that's my
details.
Here's the issue: are some of us better off this way? If there's no risk of suicide, what's wrong with it? It's better than smoking weed or doing the harder drugs (I used to be into that, I've quit). It's a convenient way to get high, if you ask me. Adrenaline rush, pain endorphins, no expenditure necessary. So what if we're addicted? No one's getting hurt, including us. The pleasure and feeling of release is obviously better than the sting. So why not?
It's a good question, isn't it? If there's no risk of having an accident, what's wrong with it?
