Are you aged 14-19 years?

Would you be interested in taking part in a study about young peoples attitudes towards and experience of deliberate self-harm?

There are still many gaps in our knowledge about self-harm. For example, relatively little is known about young peoples attitudes towards self-harm, and the effects of self-harm by important others, for example, relatives or friends.

Psychologists from the Clinical Psychology Unit in the Department of Psychology at the University of Sheffield are carrying out an internet survey to try and understand more about young peoples opinions about and experiences of self-harm. As part of the study, you would be asked to complete a questionnaire. We would then like you to fill in a short follow-up questionnaire (7 questions) 6 months later.

Remember, we are interested in your views whether or not you have self-harmed or know someone who has.

To take part in the study or find out more about it, go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=757252857324. The Project is being supervised by Professor Paschal Sheeran and Dr Jason Davies.

The opportunity to take part in the study is from 14 November 2006 to 14 February 2007.
